Student Acknowledgement – Part I


The School has established the following important policies for its student and staff:

  1. It is the policy of the School of Construction Safety not to discriminate in its educational programs, admission policies, financial aid programs, employment practices and other school-sponsored activities because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, marital or parental status, national or ethnic’s origin, age or disability. The School’s training facilities and services are available only to employers, business and persons whose practices are consistent with this policy. The school’s full Student Information Privacy Policy is conspicuously posted near the front entrance of the school.

  2. The School of Construction Safety is committed to maintaining its school and working environment free from unlawful discrimination and harassment. The School will not tolerate unlawful harassment, including harassment because of a person’s race, color, religion, creed, ancestry, national origin, sex, age, disability, marital or veteran status, sexual orientation, political ideology, or other characteristic protected by applicable state, federal, or local laws. The school’s full anti-discrimination and sexual and sexual harassment policies conspicuously posted near the front entrance of the school.

  3. All school computer software for classroom computers were either originally installed by the manufacturer, or purchased individually for each computer. All ownership intellectual property rights related to the design and delivery of content of content for school courses belong to the school of Construction Safety, LLC, unless otherwise published in writing and disclosed to its students b by the school. Licensing for this software is maintained at the school y the Director. All distributed photocopied classroom learning materials contain a disclaimer stating that they are “Distributed to the student for educational purpose only.”

  4.  The school instructor is required by the school and agree to verbally disclose to students, prior to the start of course classes, any of the instructor’s proprietary interest in products, instruments, devices, services or materials discussed, as well as the source of any compensation they received related to such presentation.

  5. The school’s student information privacy policy allows releasing student information to the student, only to law enforcement officials by court order, and information to employers pertaining the students’ receiving a pass/no-credit grade and only with the student’s signed permission. The school’s full Student Information Privacy Policy is conspicuously posted near the front entrance of the school.

  6. Students are expected to attend all hours of classes as schedule. Students with excessive absences will be severely penalized.

  7. The school allows only in-class attended classroom hours by students in awarding CEUs. No CEU credit is awarded for unplanned, unsupervised and unsponsored activities (such as breaks, non-working lunch and anything promotional in nature.) No partial credit or adjusted CEUs are permitted in calculating the school’s CEUs.

  8. Registrations must be submitted at least 3 business days prior to the class start date. Registrations submitted less than 3 days prior to the start of any class will not be eligible for a refund; however a credit will be issued on file. Should a client request a refund and is eligible to receive one, a refund request will be submitted to the Training Department and can take up to 3-5 days to be processed. Cancellation and/or reschedule requests must be received in writing by email or fax. The client is responsible for ensuring that SCHOOL OF CONSTRUCTION SAFETY receives your written request. Attendees must cancel more than 3 business days prior to the course date to receive a full refund.

  9. SCHOOL OF CONSTRUCTION SAFETY reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes at any time. If a course is cancelled, due to any unforeseen circumstance, the client is entitled to a full refund. Should SCHOOL OF CONSTRUCTION SAFETY cancel or reschedule a class due to weather or unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of SCHOOL OF CONSTRUCTION SAFETY, the client is entitled to a full refund; however SCHOOL OF CONSTRUCTION SAFETY is not responsible for travel arrangements, travel fees, or any expenses incurred by you as a result of such cancellation. If SCHOOL OF CONSTRUCTION SAFETY cancels a class in which you are enrolled, you will be contacted at the phone number and/or email address you provided when registering, so please be sure to provide valid contact information.

School Services – Which Staff person is Responsible for What Student Service?

The School process each student’s registration by requiring to provide valid identification and completing the school’s Student Information Course registration Form. Thereafter the student is provided a course payment receipt and their payment is recorded in their individual student ledger.

The Student Information Privacy policy provided to students upon their registration provides instructions to students as to which school personnel the student should contact for release of their record, how and where to contact them at the school.

Facility signage, office staff and instructors are provided to students to direct them to their specific assigned classroom, workshop and reference rooms. Each staff person has a specific Job Description to follow and adhere to consisting of specific task and responsibility including providing communication and information regarding when, where and how support services and privacy policies are available to students. Refreshments are provided to students by school staff during daylong class sessions.

Each student receives a course description and prices at or prior or course registration, and a course syllabi for the course they register for prior to attending their course.

Course Hand-out learning materials are distributed to students at the start of and throughout each course.

Classroom audio-visual equipment consisting of computer assisted internet and video presentations slides enhance the student’s learning event. Abundant up-to-date course appropriate construction safety equipment are used in classroom and workshop areas.

Student teacher evaluation are provided to and completed by students quarterly to properly evaluate teacher performance. A course student is designated to collect all student teacher evaluation for turning in to the Office manager at the front desk reception are Office.

Note to student: The Course Instructor is tasked with providing these communication materials and support services to students, and the school’s Office Manager, and or Registrar is responsible for collecting these materials from designated student.

Attendance is taken and recorded by the course instructor at the beginning of each course class session.

Note to Student: These class attendance sheets are turned into the school’s Office Manager for recording by the school’s office Manager and/or Registrar.

Pass/No Credit testing is required of each student to complete their attendance course. The teacher grades each student’s test prior to awarding a Pass/Fail course grade. Students must answer the majority of their test question right to receive credit for completing their course. Students receiving a Failing grade will be required to retake their course as explained to student in their student course syllabus and course description and prices form. Final course grades are entered on a Course Completion Form and turned-in to the school’s Office Manager and Registrar for recording and awarding of course completing CEU certificates and/or IDs as appropriate.

Student Course Satisfaction Follow-Up are completed by each student completing a course and recorded by the school’s Office Manager. These course satisfaction form results are reviewed by school administration, faculty and staff at monthly meetings.
